Monitoring coverage

Choose which searches to check, where, on which devices and how often.

  • Google and Bing search ads

    Available

Paid text ads observed on Google and Bing results for the keywords you monitor.

  • Keyword × location × device

    Available

Each check is one keyword, location, device and source, so every observation keeps its exact context.

  • Country and city locations

    Available

Monitor whole countries or specific cities. The number of locations per project depends on your plan.

  • Rotating city coverage

    Available

List up to four times your plan's locations and check a few in each run, least recently checked first, so many cities in a country are covered over time for the cost of the few checked per run.

  • Desktop and mobile

    Available

Each observation records the device and operating system, such as Windows, macOS, Android or iOS.

  • Monitoring schedules

    Available

Run checks daily, every few hours, or up to every 15 minutes: every hour on Business, every 15 minutes on Enterprise. Your plan sets the most frequent schedule; faster schedules use the same monthly allowance on fewer keyword and location combinations.

  • Random check times

    Available

Each scheduled run can start at a random minute within its interval, so ads timed around fixed checks are harder to miss. It never runs more often and uses the same checks.

  • On-demand checks

    Available

Start a fresh check when you need one. On-demand checks use their own monthly allowance.

  • Shopping product ads

    Available

Sponsored product listings on Google, with product, merchant, price, destination and position. Growth plan and above.

  • Other engines and marketplaces

    Not available yet

Yahoo, Amazon, regional engines, social platforms and AI answer surfaces.

Review and drilldowns

Move from an overview to the single ad behind a finding.

  • Overview

    Available

Paid ads observed over time, next to the top advertiser domains, for the project and filters you select.

  • Paid results explorer

    Available

Every domain seen on your searches, with ads analyzed, keywords and observed visibility. Segments pick out affiliate markers, brand mentions, coupon sites and lookalike domains.

Visibility is the share of your monitored searches that included the domain, not Google impression share.

  • Keyword drilldown

    Available

For each keyword: the advertisers that appeared, their ads with appearance counts, and history over time.

  • Advertiser drilldown

    Available

Every saved ad an advertiser ran on your searches. See presence over time, first and last seen, keyword and market trends, and returns after a gap. An hour-by-weekday heatmap sits next to your observation schedule.

  • Advertiser identity

    Limited

Look up an advertiser domain in Google's Ads Transparency Center: the advertiser accounts Google lists for ads pointing to it, the name each one verified with Google, its country, when its ads ran and a link to Google's page. Optionally, new advertiser domains are looked up automatically after checks.

Each lookup uses 1 on-demand check; results are reused for 30 days unless you refresh them, and automatic lookups stop at 20 per project per day. Google's record links advertisers to ads that pointed to a domain; it does not prove who placed a specific ad.

  • Advertiser relationships

    Available

Label each advertiser as competitor, authorized retailer, reseller, affiliate, marketplace, publisher, coupon site or other.

  • Shared filters

    Available

Dates, engine, device, operating system, country and location work the same way on every report and carry into exports.

  • Ad copy change history

    Available

Each advertiser's distinct ad copy with first and last seen dates, a timeline of word-level changes, and a list of recent copy changes across the project.

Dates show when monitoring saw the copy, not when the advertiser launched it.

Affiliate compliance

Connect ads on your brand searches to the partners in your program.

  • Affiliate ID detection

    Available

Set the URL parameter your program uses and add your list of IDs. Saved Google ad links are matched exactly, and unknown IDs stay visible.

  • Non-compliant affiliate cases

    Available

Affiliates whose ads used your brand name on a domain you do not own. Move each case through New, In progress, Resolved or Ignored, and download a report.

  • Policy rules and cases

    Available

Set your own rules, such as forbidden terms, brand bidding by unauthorized advertisers, direct linking, promo codes, position limits or unauthorized affiliate IDs. Each advertiser that breaks one gets a case with owner, status, notes, history and evidence.

Rules read saved ad copy, positions and destination URLs, not landing pages or redirect chains.

  • Affiliate marker heuristic

    Available

Even before you set your parameter, common affiliate parameters in destination URLs are flagged for review.

  • Redirect-chain tracing

    Available

We follow eligible ad destinations hop by hop from our servers and record status codes, the final page and any affiliate IDs in the chain. Tracing does not run from the searcher's country or device.

  • Web archive (WARC) of redirect traces

    Available

Each trace that reached a server is saved as a standard WARC 1.1 file you can download from the chain, the case or the API: the requests we sent and the responses we received, with every response header and bodies up to 256 KiB.

It records one visit from our servers, not a browser: scripts do not run and no cookies are sent. A saved landing page capture, when it exists, is added as HTML only and marked as separate from the HTTP exchange.

Evidence and context

Keep what was seen together with where and when it was seen.

  • Saved ads with full context

    Available

Headline, description, advertiser domain, destination URL, search term, engine, location, device and time for every observation.

  • Ad assets

    Limited

The sitelinks and other extras shown with each ad: on Google, sitelinks, phone number, promotion, whether an image showed and top or bottom placement; on Bing, sitelinks, extra description rows and price. Shown with the ad, in exports, evidence packs and the API.

Only the assets the search reports are saved; images are not stored. Ads saved before assets were recorded show them as not captured.

  • Brand mention detection

    Available

Ads that mention your brand from domains you do not own are highlighted.

  • Policy screening

    Limited

An AI-assisted first review of Google ads that mention your brand, checked against Google Ads trademark and misrepresentation policies. Each result gives its reasons and limits.

Decision support only. It is not a Google decision or legal advice.

  • Landing page captures

    Limited

Eligible Google ad landing pages are captured once and stored privately. When a preview exists, the ad's evidence can show a static image of the saved page.

A preview appears only when the capture and the image both succeed. It is built from the saved HTML with scripts and embedded frames turned off. Styles, images and fonts load when the preview is made, so they can differ from the page at capture time.

  • Evidence packs

    Available

A PDF of one case for your legal team, a network or a platform complaint: the case summary, each observation with its search, place, device and local time, ad copy, ad assets and URLs, which redirect traces have a web archive, results-page screenshots and landing previews when they exist, and the case history.

It lists the 100 newest observations and says when a picture is not available. An observation is not proof of infringement or spend.

  • Complaint preparation and tracking

    Available

For a case, the details Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising trademark forms ask for, ready to copy, with a link to the official form. Record each complaint you file and its outcome on the case.

You submit on the platform's own form. The platforms do not offer a way to file trademark complaints for you.

  • Partner and advertiser outreach

    Available

Write to an affiliate or another advertiser from editable templates (first notice, reminder, final notice) filled with the case, then record that you sent it.

Messages are sent from your own email. Ads Lighthouse does not email partners or advertisers for you.

  • Automated complaint filing

    Not available yet

Submitting trademark complaints to search engines for you.

Team, exports and account

Share the work without sharing passwords or copying spreadsheets.

  • CSV and Excel exports

    Available

Every data table offers CSV and Excel exports of the rows and columns you see, with your filters applied.

  • PDF project reports

    Available

A PDF of a project's observations for a date range and filters, ready to forward. It includes a summary with period comparison, methodology, trends, top and new advertisers, brand mentions, affiliate findings, ad copy and an evidence appendix.

Included in every plan. Reports are kept for 7 days. Search result screenshots are not included.

  • White-label reports

    Available

Send clients PDF reports and case evidence packs in your agency's branding: your name, logo, accent color, contact line and footer on the cover, headers and footers and in the file properties, with a "Prepared for" client name. The methodology and limits stay in every file.

Scale plans and above. The account owner or an admin sets the branding; logos are PNG or JPEG. Scheduled summary emails are not white-labeled.

  • Projects per brand

    Available

Each project monitors one brand with its own domains, keywords, markets and schedule. Your plan sets how many projects you can create.

  • Team accounts

    Available

Invite teammates as members or admins. Everyone shares the account's projects, plan and history.

    There are no per-project permissions.

  • Personal time zones

    Available

Dates, report days and schedules follow each person's own time zone.

  • Google Ads and Search Console connections

    Limited

Optional, read-only connections for separate reports on demand from your own accounts.

Their data does not feed the monitoring reports.

  • Alerts

    Available

Get alerts from your monitored searches when a new advertiser appears, an advertiser returns after 30 days away, an ad mentions your brand in its copy, or one of your affiliate IDs is detected, plus a daily or weekly scheduled summary of the period. Alerts arrive by email, Slack or webhook.

There are no other alert types, such as position or copy changes. A summary counts saved checks; when no check ran it says so instead of showing zero.

  • Public API

    Limited

A REST API with API keys. Read project and workspace data, saved evidence and reports, and update monitoring, team, alert and review workflows with the same rules as the app.

Scale plans and above. For eligible ads, REST reports can include landing page preview details and private access to the JPEG preview image. The API does not return saved page text or full HTML.

  • MCP server for AI assistants

    Available

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI or Claude Code and ask about the ads on your brand searches in plain language.

Included in every plan. Connect by signing in with your Ads Lighthouse account.
