Google Shopping ads

See which merchants sell on your brand searches.

Sponsored listings put a product, a price and a store in front of shoppers searching for your brand. Ads Lighthouse saves the ones it sees on your monitored Google searches in a dedicated Shopping report.

What we capture in Shopping

When Shopping is on, each check saves the sponsored product listings shown on Google results for one keyword, location and device. Shopping is its own source, separate from text ads.

Ad formats

  • Sponsored product listings (Shopping ads) shown with Google search results
  • Not the separate Shopping tab, and not free product listings
  • Text ads on the same search stay in Paid results when Google Search is also selected

Platform notes

  • Google says Shopping ads use Merchant Center product data, not keywords, to decide when to show. Each ad displays a product photo, title, price and store name. They run from Shopping or Performance Max campaigns, and Google may enrich them with landing page content, including text created by Google AI, so a listing's title can differ from the merchant's feed.

What it does not show

  • A saved listing shows what appeared for one search, at one time, place and device. It is not proof of spend, stock, the checkout price or infringement.
  • Only sponsored product listings shown with Google search results are captured. The Shopping tab, free listings and Shopping ads on Bing are not.
  • Google shows product listings only for some searches and markets. A check that finds no listings is saved as zero. A failed capture shows as unavailable, never as zero.
  • Product images are not shown, and the operating system is not recorded.
  • Alerts, Paid results, Keywords and affiliate reports read text ads, not Shopping listings.

Common questions

Which plans include Shopping?

See Plan availability on this page for the plans that include it. You switch Shopping on per project in its monitoring plan.

Does Shopping use extra checks?

Yes. Shopping is a separate source, so each keyword, location and device uses one Shopping check in addition to any Google or Bing search check.

Is this the Google Shopping tab?

No. These are the sponsored product listings that Google shows with ordinary search results. The separate Shopping tab is not checked.

Can I get alerts for Shopping listings?

Not today. Alerts come from text-ad captures. Review Shopping listings in the Shopping report and export them to CSV or Excel.
