Search Console

A plain definition, the context behind it, what Ads Lighthouse can and cannot observe, and the official sources.

Definition
Google Search Console is a free Google service that reports how a site appears in Google Search, including the queries that show it.

Its performance reports cover organic search: clicks, impressions, click-through rate and position for a verified property. It does not report on other advertisers' ads.

Teams sometimes read it next to paid monitoring to see how organic results behave on the same brand queries.

How Ads Lighthouse observes it

An optional, read-only Search Console connection opens a separate report on demand for up to 31 days. Its rows are shown for that request and are not saved or mixed into monitoring reports.
