Brand SERP

A plain definition, the context behind it, what Ads Lighthouse can and cannot observe, and the official sources.

Definition
A brand SERP is the search engine results page shown for a query that contains a brand name.

The page can include the brand's own ads and organic results, ads from other advertisers, Shopping product ads, and other result types. What appears changes with location, device, time and many other signals.

Because it is where people who already know the brand arrive, the brand SERP is the first place teams look when they want to know who is intercepting that demand.

How Ads Lighthouse observes it

Ads Lighthouse checks the first page of results for your brand keywords and saves the paid ads it finds, with the engine, location, device and time. It does not record organic results.
