- The display URL is the web address shown in an ad; the final URL is the page the ad sends people to after any tracking.
Google documents several URL types: the display URL people see, the final URL of the landing page, and tracking templates or suffixes that add measurement. Google requires the display URL's domain to match the final URL's domain.
When the shown domain and the destination tell different stories, the difference is worth recording exactly, character by character.
How Ads Lighthouse observes it
Each saved ad keeps its displayed URL and its destination URL as captured. The ad details view breaks the destination into landing page, UTM values, click identifiers and other parameters.
