Create your first project

A project monitors one brand. Add the brand, its own domain, the market, locations, devices and schedule, then your first keywords.

Updated

Each project monitors one brand in one market. The project name is for your team, for example Nike US. The brand name and your own domain tell Ads Lighthouse which ads are yours and which come from other advertisers.

Step 1: project settings

  1. Open New project from the project switcher at the top of the sidebar, or from Home.
  2. Enter a Project name, the Brand name and your Own website domain, such as nike.com.
  3. Choose the search engines to monitor: Google, Bing or both. On Growth and higher plans you can also monitor Shopping.
  4. Choose the country and search language, for example United States and en.
  5. Add locations. You can monitor the whole country or specific cities and regions. See Choose locations and devices.
  6. Choose Desktop, Mobile or both, and a monitoring frequency. See Monitoring schedules.
  7. Optionally enter the URL parameter your affiliate links use, such as affiliate_id. You can add it later in Project settings.
  8. Select Continue to keywords.

Step 2: keywords

  1. Add the searches you want to monitor, one per line or separated by commas. Start with your brand name and its most common variations.
  2. Review Checks in your first run. It multiplies keywords by locations, devices and sources.
  3. Select Add keywords and start checks.

Your first checks run in the background and use your on-demand (realtime) allowance. You can leave the page; results appear in Keywords and Paid results as each check finishes.

The number of projects depends on your plan. You can create another project at any time from the project switcher. See Plans and limits.
