New advertiser

A plain definition, the context behind it, what Ads Lighthouse can and cannot observe, and the official sources.

Definition
A new advertiser, in brand monitoring, is a domain seen showing an ad on your monitored searches for the first time.

Newly observed does not mean newly active: the advertiser may have run ads before in places or at times you did not check. Wording such as newly observed keeps that clear.

A useful review of a new advertiser starts with the ad text, destination and any public information, before any label is applied.

How Ads Lighthouse observes it

A New advertiser observed alert fires when a domain you do not own appears for the first time in a project. The first check on each search engine is the baseline and does not alert. An Advertiser observed again alert covers domains that return after at least 30 days.
